Cassidy has a point. Sure rappers could get any woman they wanted, but the question is why is it that a lighter skinned woman is more likely to be cast in a beautiful role than a dark skinned woman. And I think it has a lot to do with our cultural development in a white america. I also agree with the professor. For the most part (no matter in how subtle a way) black culture demands white approval. We don’t think that just being black descended from African people is enough…we need more
